Do you feel overwhelmed by your packed calendar yet struggle to get the most important things done? Just like a cluttered closet, an overstuffed schedule makes it hard to create time for what truly matters. In this session, you’ll discover the Time Edit framework — inspired by the famous Home Edit method — to declutter your tasks, organize your time, and create sustainable systems that keep you focused and in control.

This presentation will highlight inextricable connections between advancing women’s leadership and supporting the caregiving work that is disproportionately done by women—whether as mothers, caregivers of elders, and even as co-workers. Caregiving impacts most women’s experiences of the workplace and their leadership development journeys. More than 70% of mothers with children ages five and under are in the workforce; 20% of U.S. workers have family caregiving responsibilities for elders or others with special needs, and 66% of those caregivers are women. The presentation will explore the diversity of caregiving needs, emotional labor in the workplace, and moments of caregiving stress in the arc of a career. We will also develop an understanding of the potential impacts of caregiving on leadership development opportunities for women. Participants will learn actionable strategies to support their caregiving journeys, including tools to map their assets, strategize for challenges, and leverage the strengths many caregivers bring to leadership. Participants will also learn how to empower themselves as advocates for more caregiving-friendly workplaces as part of their leadership development journeys. From helping caregivers manage workload and leaves to leveraging their strengths as leaders, we will learn how to retain and empower women leaders at all stages of their journey.
